STUDENTS ARE THE CORE ESSENCE OF A CULTURAL SOCIETY: SSF

Chennai: Students are a vital force in shaping the cultural and social fabric of a nation, SSF stated at the sixth edition of the National Sahityotsav in Chennai. Any attempt to keep students away from democratic processes and social engagement cannot serve the interests of the nation. Students are not only the future of the country, but also a vital force in shaping its present.
Throughout history, students and youth have stepped forward to uphold justice, renew collective consciousness and restore a sense of direction whenever societies have drifted from their foundational values. CP Ubaidullah Saqafi, President of SSF India, said that the sharpest questions and meaningful interventions in a democratic society often come from students. Their voices must be heard and considered in building a just and equal future. It is not passive silence, but sharp and creative responses that strengthen democracy.
The National Sahityotsav carries the responsibility of nurturing this spirit through knowledge, creativity, dialogue and cultural engagement. It seeks to encourage students to think independently, participate meaningfully in society and uphold democratic values. Through literature and the arts, Sahityotsav creates spaces for students to engage with ideas, express themselves with purpose and contribute to the cultural and social life of the nation.
SSF will continue to stand with a student community prepared to ask questions, defend its rights and take an active role in shaping society, while remaining rooted in knowledge, culture and democratic values.
